Suckin' Sister
OK, so I decided just to post to one blog now, due to many reasons. So all my paintings, sketches, random art related goodness will now be posted strictly to this blog (and a website in due time). Moving on, here is a oil painting of my sister for my sister (all she likes is portraits of herself and cats). This was initially a christmas present, but she understands procrastination and me have worked hand in hand.

Red Kite
I got this rad book about birds from the library and saw the "Red Kite". A bird of prey, with great features (i.e. long flank feathers on the bottom end, fork tail, piercing eyes) made an impression in my heart. Hope you enjoy the picture as much as I do.

Memorial Park
Today I took my girlfriend to Memorial Park in Riverside to enjoy nature and we did. I sketched the huge bronze sculpture in the middle of the park (minus the big globe of swirling humans he's standing on..)
..and here are some trees. I was playing squarepusher's hello everyone song and there was this squirrel prancing to it. Of course, the bugs were a factor so we left a little prematurely.

Spartacus Rigsby
My boy Spartacus Rigsby, what a good friend.
He came up on my bed, laid down and said, "draw me asshole" and after staring at him for 10 minutes I did.

Out-weighing the competition
Its funny because I actually had to stop drawing the fat chick because I was getting sick. Sad isn't it. In the future, there might be a painting involving a polar bear, so I'm taking all the steps (i.e. realistic to cartoons) to understand this creature fully. I also noticed that you can find a lot of good pics of polar bears, they are very photogenic creatures.

Fetal Skull
I just got done drawing this fetal skull for practice and it was a pleasure. There is something about this skull that is appealing..maybe since it was an alternative to the mature human skull in class, or just the creepiness. Whatever the reason, we're friends now.

Frank's Frank
I saw a painting of Frankenstein by Frank Frazetta and loved it. So did a quick sketch of the subject matter for memory reasons and here it is!

Looks like Fun!
Here's a quick sketch that I did after reading an article about the lovely and perverse Japanese culture. The background image was going to be an idea for a triptych but scratched that idea and the idea of a muscular bug tormenting the scene. Haha, now that I think about it, the bug might add an element the Japanese (and myself) can appreciate.
